Yes, you need at least Java 1.4 to be installed to run new MSN2Go. Keep in mind that Java is not the same as Java script. I've tried a number of methods and various types of proxy but I got no luck. I suggest you to search for similar IM services. There are lots of them on the net. Try to search 'web IM' on google.
